Hi Richard,
I am currently registered as part of a relay team. One of the team members just learned he may have to travel for work the week of the race. He will try to confirm in the next couple of weeks. If so, can we substitute someone else in his spot? What’s the procedure for that? Can you email me at
astone@resflaw.com
.
Thanks for time and dedication.

Topic: The swim
Hi, how is the swim? I know it's in a protected part of the Hudson, but is there a current we'll have to fight against at all? Just curious -thanks very much

Mendelda, it looks like we are on target to close out by late may. My advice is to register because I will not be having charity spots at all- once we close that is it until 2010.
The course is awesome and close to anyplace in the tristate area. If you are coming from the city I am trying to get a special train race morning. If NJ/Rockland- 15min across the tappanz zee, if LI 30 min, if CT, 30 min. No overnight stays as there is bag pickup race morning.
Plus up to 500 volunteers on the bike and run. Last yr was a blast with 200 racers our first yr. This yr are way beyond that with 6 months to go.
Hope to see you raceday.

Topic: registered list?
Is there a way to determine how many people have registered for '09? I'm curious. I plan to register but can't do it quite yet (waiting to find out if I have to travel that day). Sounds like a great race.

I am happy to announce that Morgan Stanley/Smith Barney will be this yr's title sponsor- so we are now "The Morgan Stanley/Smith Barney Toughman Half".
Also The Toughman Community Fund is now open to athletes and volunteers for registration. This is a service provided by the race to allow EVERYONE that participates in the race (especially volunteers) to fundraise for their own charity. Please make note of the rules listed on the website for participation in this program.
The ToughKids Tri is open to registration as well- please direct questions and comments to CoRace Directors Carl C and Tara K who will be in charge of this event.
If you raced this last year- you will be receiving the highlights DVD from 08 in the mail, courtesy of the Toughman race committee. Special thanks to Doug Robbins of Guerilla productions, who doanted interns to videotape last years event and edit to music the final product. Also to Stacey S who took pictures all day- and whose slideshow is included, as well as our marketing coordinator Charles W who customized the DVD cover, and put it all together.
Also Toughman will be at the JCC/AG triathlon clinic in NYC april 5th to speak on "Putting on a Triathlon A-Z" along with many other speakers from NYC including part of our Med team Dr. Mark Klion, orthopedist.
This years pamphlets and posters will be ready for distribution by the end of this month.
